Mages turned out to be a little weak in their defence but they have a good development potential. So basically the damage you deal depends on your boost. This will lead to valuable epic jewellery. For example, Enhanced queen ant ring (mdef 48) has these effects: MP+21, resistance to poison/chance to poison someone +20%, P./M. accuracy +3, P./M.atk +7%, P. critical attack power +10%, M. critical attack power 5%. When stacking, the effect of only one ring appears.
You can get enhanced AQ ring by upgrading the regular ring. Enhanced AQ ring = 2 reinforced AQ rings = 4 AQ rings
Also, there are 2 options available for weapons:
1. Using a daimon crystal (top A grade mage blunt)
2. Using Sword of miracles/Cabrio's hand hand + Shield
In the first option, obviously you have better damage per second but in the second one you have better defence because of shield and these buffs (bless shield + advanced block)
Elemental mages skills for adena
Ice vortex Crusher - Creates an Ice Vortex that inflicts Water damage on the enemy with 175 Power added to M. Atk. (Can be used only after vortex). Costs 4k adena
Fire vortex Buster - Detonates a Fire Vortex that inflicts Fire damage on the enemy with 175 Power added to M. Atk. (Can be used only after vortex). Costs 4k adena
Wind vortex Slug - Creates a powerful Wind Vortex that inflicts Wind damage on the enemy with 175 Power added to M. Atk. (Can be used only after vortex). Costs 4k adena
Arcane Shield - For 10 seconds, decreases the damage received by 50% and turns the remaining damage into MP Consumption. When MP becomes 0, the skill's effect disappears. Costs 8k adena
Aura Symphony - Inflicts magic damage on the enemy with 300 Power added to M. Atk. Costs 12k adena
Demonic Assault - Inflicts magic damage on the enemy with 400 Power added to M. Atk. Over-hit. Costs 18k adena
Vortex changes:
Ice vortex - For 15 seconds decreases speed -15%, atk spd -5%, cast spd -5%, water resistance -10%
Wind vortex - For 15 seconds decreases speed -5%, atk spd -5%, cast spd -15%, wind resistance -10%
Fire vortex - For 15 seconds decreases speed -5%, atk spd -15%, cast spd -5%, fire resistance -10%
Necromancer
His dps compared to elemental mages is noticeably less though his tenacity/survavibility and multiple debuffs make it up for his lower output damage.
He's got the most important debuffs: silence, curse of doom, fear etc.
Some changes:
Anchor - Causes the enemy's body to go completely rigid for 10 seconds and causes paralysis for 5 seconds. (Very nice mechanics. Bascially your enemy's speed is decreased after that he completely gets stuck in paralysis for 5 seconds). Costs 8k adena.
Curse of Doom - Blocks all the enemy's physical and magical skills for 24 sec. Costs 8k adena.
Summon: Cursed Man - Summons Cursed Man. Consumes 12 Spirit Ores. Costs 12k adena.
Vampiric mist - Scatters a fog of death to inflict dark damage on nearby enemies with 117 Power added to M. Atk. Absorbs 20% of the damage as HP. For 10 seconds, decreases Speed/ P. Atk./ Atk. Spd. by 30% and P. Accuracy by 8. Costs 18k adena.
Also, inferno/blizzards/demon wind - are not so powerful but very useful in some situations. You can cast them without seeds (unlike in lineage interlude)
Aura Symphony/Elemental assault power increased x2.
